If you choose to customize your GW Connect sounds you are entirely on your own. Neither GW Micro or Accessible Devices will provide any type of support beyond what Accessible Devices has provided here.
If knowing what you've read above you choose to customize your sounds follow the instructions below. You will find instructions for doing it manually and at the bottom of the page several self extracting files. Be sure to read the notice before choosing a self extracting file.
The sounds used here are those you would have heard if you used a telephone during the nineteen forties and fifties.
Open My Computer and proceed as follows, opening each as you go. Open the C drive and locate the Program Files folder. Open the Program Files folder (Note: In 64 bit systems you want the program files (x86)\ folder located just below the Program Files folder) and locate the GW Micro Folder. Open the GW Micro folder and locate the GW Connect folder. Open the GW Connect folder and locate the Sounds folder, leave this one closed for the moment.
The file path looks like this: For 32 bit systems, C:\ Program Files\
GW Micro\ GW Connect\ Sounds.
For 64 bit systems: c:\program files (x86)\GW Micro\GWConnect\sounds
Before proceeding any further create a backup copy of the sounds folder and store it where you'll be able to easily retrieve it. This could be done by simply cutting the folder out and moving it to a storage location.
Step 2: If you chose to copy the folder for backup, rather than cutting it out and moving it, delete the existing Sound folder after confirming that you have a backup Sounds folder.
Step 3: Now paste the new Sound folder that you've downloaded and unzipped in the GW Connect folder.
Step 4:Now close the folder and restart the GW Connect program. The new sounds should have replaced the original sounds.
